I was born and raised in Decatur, GA and
am a professionally trained visual artist. I have three children and one husband ;) and along the way, I put my art on hold to be a stay at home mom- a choice I have never regretted!
We moved to the Caribbean when the kids were 5, 3, and 1 and stayed for seven years.......when I realized their school had no art program, I started a mission to create one for them. Next thing I knew I was teaching 80+ students from pre-K to 12th grade- even though I'd never taught before! I loved it- the students were so inspiring to work with and the more I worked with them, the more I knew I wanted to be a full time artist again......
We moved back to the states in 2007 and since then, I find myself able to be a full time painter again! It's nice to work from home and arrange my schedule around the kids'! But in the last year, I've really found myself missing working with young children and that's where I decided to start teaching again, only from home so I can combine my two artistic passions!

I love the title of this post... you are becoming so poetic, Stephanie. I just looked at your poppy, and I am not even going to say anything. I'll just wait and see how you manage to make it beautiful enough to suit yourself :) I also loved reading about your birds. The only bird's nest I've seen lately is in the back of my head. Can you believe I didn't even bother to comb my hair yesterday? I hope I am not losing it... ♥♥♥
STUNNING. How awesome. Now THIS is what I need for Silent Sunday: a natural born artist who will accept being photographed. Wonderful, including the birth of the flower.
