It's week 46 of
Paint Party Friday and although I had a really busy week, I did manage to get a new painting started....mind, it's in a VERY rough stage and again, I'm once again, a little embarrassed to share. I usually sketch and sketch tons before I paint anything, but every once in a while I do a free-for-all style painting where I start with a rough idea of
what I want to paint and then use the paintbrush as a sketching tool...it's fun and frustrating at the same time, but it's also good for the perfectionist in me to let go every once in a while...so here's what I have so far:
for
whatever reason, the colors aren't showing very well, maybe because
it's a really overcast day? Anyway, it's enough to give you an
idea.....and like I said, it's in very early, rough stages! Here it
appears that I've just used complimentary colors but there is a lot more
range of color than is showing. For today, I want to work on the tree,
unify the background areas and do a little more color emphasis on her
face- also, her arms and hands are driving me
bonkers......all this will have to wait until later as I have to leave now to
take my daughter to the doctor......but my "cello chica" will be waiting
for me when I return and I am starting to like her more, the better I get
to know her! For now, Happy
Paint Party Friday! I'll be by to see what every one else has been up to this week- you should too, it's always incredibly inspiring!

She is AMAZING! Her face is stunning. I can't wait to see where this painting goes. Love your colour palette! Happy PPF.
Again with the embarrassed... you show off... but seriously I do know what you mean and I am jealous that you seem to be letting go so beautifully.... spend some time drawing , and redrawing, and redrawing again yesterday so need to take a leaf from your book and loosen up a bit... hope your daughter is ok and glad you think Dirty Jobs guy is sexy too... glad it wasn't just me...xx
I am loving this lady already! I would never know you hadn't sketched and planned ~ she's gorgeous! I can "see" the music emanating from her cello :)
She's beautiful! Just look at the passion and power in her face and arms.

This is wonderful, the contrast of colors, the tree...I love the way her hair flows, too. Happy PPF!
Love it Stephanie. Lots of movement and the colors are just awesome. Happy PPF!
the movement of this is stunning. I swear I can HEAR her!
The movement is even more powerful in your work because she is playing an instrument. It makes the eye HEAR!
Wishing you a Happy PPF!

Wow! That is gorgeous! Love the energy and the movement of the piece. :)
Great, the sensation of movement is hot. Saludos
This could almost be finished you know... I am sure that your inner critic knows exactly what you had in mind and the final version will be FAB-U-LOUS, but this looks great as is! Great talent!
Oooh, LOVE!!
I think she is very beautiful - you are very talented.
Blessings,
Tricia
Ooh! I think this is lovely! I can almost hear the music flowing with the wind! Love it!!
I love it already! She's going to be a masterpiece.
Oh she is really lovely and already lost in her music...magical!! Happy PPF.
She's wonderful. I love seeing early stages of a painting and then the finished piece. Can't wait to see her completed. Happy PPF!
I wonder what she is playing - perhaps one of those emotional cello pieces by Max Bruch - she looks like it. Vivid and into the music - fantastic!
The cello is my most favorite instrument...so mournful and melancholy and seductive. As usual you and your talented self have blown me away. I couldn't do arms and hands that wonderfully...
The tree mirrors the girl...it's already beautiful.

I love the colors of this piece. It is a good subject and you executed very well.
