Weekly Challenge at Inspiration Avenue: "Harlequin"

The weekly challenge at Inspiration Avenue was "Harlequin" (I should know this, since I was the one who set the challenge this week;))  Anyway, here's my Harlequin:
It's another one of my little journals, in progress- I just need to glaze it, glue the inside cover in, drill the holes and bind it all together and it'll be done!  I have a show coming up the first weekend in December and I'm trying to get a nice little pile of these finished by then!
Be sure to stop by Inspiration Avenue this Sunday to see what everyone else came up with; it's sure to be a quite festive collection!

I'm also linking this with Tracey Potter  who just started a weekly blog party called Paint & Palette or P & P- great fun, you just share a photo of your palette and a painting if you like......FUN!
I used to buy disposable palettes but then came up with the idea of making my own as I go, so this is a piece of canvas and I wrap it with fresh plastic wrap each time I paint.  A little tacky, but quite economical!
See ya'll tomorrow for Paint Party Friday- I'll be sharing updates for on my new painting....

Gee, wasn't I just here? Lovely and thought provoking addition to the IA challenge. I wish I had a week to work on this challenge, because it took me two days to get started. Your Harlequin is super beautiful. I love how you paint faces.

Great painting Stephanie! I love the way you do faces and fabrics. How wonderful to see your palette & paint. Fantastic idea on the cling wrap palette, who wants to spend their time cleaning palettes when they could be painting! Thanks for sharing in P&P.

I think you have re-awakened my fascination with harlequins. Your painting is very powerful. I love it. The face has a quality that draws one into it. Thank you for the tip of the disposable pallette. I am going to copy it.

Ha, I use a tacky palette too. Mine is wax paper over cardboard. Works for me.

I love your harlequin clown. Somehow I am so drawn to clowns, never when I was a kid, but I love them now! Love her face and the neck ruffle is so amazing. I like the way you have positioned her on the page.

you are the evil one who set Harlequin... I have been racking my brain all week as to how I can attack this without needing to re enter therapy... harlequins are the ones who give clowns a bad rap in my book... love your work as always , you are painting so well at the moment!!!and off to try to get mine started xx

A beautiful harlequin. I have a small collection of harlequin dolls. I am always drawn to their faces and this one is so lovely.

I wish I could see the pile of journals...maybe you could take a picture of them all together. I love to see a splathering of work...
I knew you would have the best harlequin...you always shine so brightly!

Your harlequin has a sense of calm and mystery, and is very beautiful. The eyes and expression are wonderful - really compelling to look at.

Lots of luck with the fair - wish I was close enough to come and see all your work in person!

What a beautiful painting. So you mean that it is the cover for an art journal you created? I'd love to see if fully assembled. Have a great show :).
Stay inspired!
