I always do a pencil portrait for my Mom and this year I'm doing two.
This one is of my little guy, back when he was little! He just turned 12 this past Summer.....
Another of Garrett as Groucho Marx, it's still in progress, but you can at least get an idea.....
Last but not least is a HUGE (at least for me ;)) portrait of my Dad and my girls- it's from one of my all time favorite pictures of us on our way home from getting the Christmas tree- and the Atlanta skyline is in the background as well as some Christmas tree branches. I've got a ways to go on this one, but I have until Sunday afternoon, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes to get it done in time.
Now, I'm off to finish prepping for today's Christmas art camp.....we'll be singing "Oh Christmas Tree" and making a landscape of decorated evergreens as well as Picasso-ish Peace doves surrounded by Klimt-ish swirls of color. I'l try to get back to share.
I sure have missed you guys in blog land!

I just love the picture of your dad and girls. What a wonderful memory for your family.
Yes, we've all been busy with Christmas and I have been guilty as well. It's hard to believe I only posted one time this entire month!
Hope to get around to see you lots in 2012 Stephanie and have enjoyed our visits this year.
Hugs,
Cheryl

Hi Stephanie...your portraits are so exact, you really have a special talent. So much going on for you, you really are wonder woman. I hope your Christmas is wonderful for you and your family.
I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished painting...and the kid's artwork. I bet everyone in your family is hoping for a painting from you...that's a lot of pressure :)
Love, Lisa
Merry Christmas friend!
Love your pieces and the painting is going to be a family heirloom I just know it!
Love them all, especially the finished sketch! Just wonderful!
Oh my yes, family heirlooms for sure. What a beautiful talent God has given you and how sweet of you to give them away! Of course it is your mother and I would've done anything for my mom ;)
I am looking forward to the new year and less chaos with the holidays almost past us. We'll all get back in routines :) I think you've done really well in posting and visiting considering the incredibly busy month you've had!
xx Jaime
