Paint Party Friday- Week 45

WOW, is it possible that Paint Party Friday has been going strong for 45 weeks?  Incredible, and I'm happy to say that I've posted for a LOT of them.  Not all like I would prefer, but I'm happy with how many I've manged!
So here's what I've been working on this week:
This is one of those times when I'm a little embarrassed to share my WIP's.  The first thing I'm doing today after I get off from here is change the background.....turn the stamens to black and intensify the oranges and then I think I'll be happy with..  Believe it or not, this supposed to be a poppy- see why I'm kind of reluctant to share :D
Go see what everyone else has been working on this week- there's always a great combination of talent at Paint Party Friday!
Have a great day!
Stephanie

You could have called it a dandelion and I would not have known the difference. All your flowers are so incredibly gorgeous and so well painted. Please remember we are our own worst critics.

This totally caught my eye...the petals and highlights and shading came out perfect! I know what you mean though, sharing WIPs can be challenging because they aren't finished and only we know what they should look like...so far this looks lovely!

yes, I know exactly what you're feeling about being embarrassed sharing wip's. but I can tell you that right now is not that time!!! It's beautiful and I'm sure those changes you're wanting to make will make it perfect. Beautiful work Steph!

This is gorgeous. I'd be happy with this if I'd painted it. We're always our harshest critics.

We are our own worst critics! It is beautiful...but I understand that feeling of a piece not quite being "right"...

Make your changes, stand back and smile :D
You are incredibly gifted!!

I love it just as it is, including the wonderful background. If you want to change it, try duplicating it and preserving this gorgeous original.

The first thing I thought when I landed on your blog was AMAZING! Such a captivating painting Stephanie. It's hard sharing WIP's when you can see so much you want to change, but I'm so glad you did, as this has brighten my day. Thanks xx Happy PPF!

So great you have been able to play along in so many of the challenges. I'm sad to say I haven't been able to. Way to many commitments this past year! But that's changing LOL

I think this is amazing! I agree that you should not be embarrassed AT ALL!!! Gorgeous color and light in this painting. Can't wait to see it after you "fix" it, though. I'm sure it will be even more stunning.

Happy PPF!

I was oohing and aahing over your amazing talent at painting flowers, then read your words! So incredible how we judge our own work and yet so easily see the beauty in others :)
But yes I do know that feeling of not quite creating what you wanted, and having to keep going till you do!
So happy painting and by jimminy is this poppy going to rock!! :)
