Day Nine and a Little More Progress.....

Wow, it's day 9 and I've been working all morning, mostly on background stuff.  Have I ever mentioned that the background is almost always the hardest part of most of my paintings?  Well, it is, and this one's no exception!  Anyway here's the face I did for today:
I'm having a LOT of fun with these little non traditional faces!

And here's the overall piece:
so, should it go this way?

or THIS way?
I'm using this for my Paint Party Friday post- be sure to check them out if haven't already- there's always SO much to see at the party!
and
I'm also linking to Palette & Paint Thursday- Tracey Potter's fun weekly blog party.....
 Have a great day!
x
Stephanie

Thank you for taking the extra time to show your art process. This is really nice...I see the influence of modern Expressionism, yet I can also see your own spin on it too. Your whole blog is really beautiful.

I love the way you are incorporating all these faces into this painting. It seems so ambitious but you are pulling it off wonderfully!

I really love the bottom one... not sure why, but it seems a bit more balanced to me... very very cool work though and you have been busy lately... loving the colour palette and the klimty feel... as to backgrounds... I hate them they are the bane of my existence and am usually guilty of doing the slap it on and hope for the best.... yours always look great to me..xx

Hey Stephanie, this piece is wonderful! I'm really loving visiting your blog and seeing your beautiful paintings.

I like it the second way too. I think it's more balanced and reads better. though it's lovely both ways and I find myself drawn to it and going round and round looking at all the details.

Thanks for sharing with P&P again! It's such a pleasure to have you on board.

Happy Weekend xx

So much meaning in this painting! Wow. I really love that you could hang it either way, and doing that gives it a completely different meaning...or at it least it does to me.
