It's Time for Paint Party Friday Again!

Like I said before I haven't had much time for painting- but, I'm almost done with my pages for
 Lisa Wright's Round Robin Book.
I changed the colors a bit in the mandala:
I might do a tiny bit more tweaking, but this is pretty much finished.....

And I did more on the dancing ladies....a LOT more:
please pardon the shadow in the upper left corner- it's quite a grey day here,
and tho I took this picture several times, this the best I could do

I'm pretty happy with this except for how "two tone" it is- but on the other hand, I don't want it to be a riot of color.  So, here's where I need input; if I added any different colors, what would YOU suggest?
I'd love to hear any ideas!

In the meantime, come join me at Paint Party Friday, it's always a blst filled with so much talent and fun!
TTFN,
Stephanie

The dancing ladies is my favorite. They look like fairy spirits dancing through the flowers. This one is priceless Stephanie.

those dancing ladies are just wonderful - the movement you've captured is perfect!
Thanks for your lovely comment- I did/do have an etsy shop and have sold s few card and a couple of twisty towns to Eva of PPF but I didn't bother to renew the listing when they ran out the last time as it didn't seem like it was worth it. i've just opened a shop on Fine Art America so I'll see how that goes!

Oh Stephanie, your painting is wonderful. I don't see it as being "two-toned". It's vibrant and energetic! If you feel like you need to boost the contrast, you could enhance your darks and lights. Love it! Happy PPF! :-)

the colours are just fine! Lovely work. Great movement in the dancers, wonderful colours in the Mandala. Maybe you could add more of that lime colour in the dancer one, if you must!

I love looking at your Mandala. It is really special. The dancing ladies seem so full of joy. I think they are perfect just as they are.

You dancing ladies are lovely - the "two-tone" you refer to adds a magical quality. IF anything, I would suggest adding more value changes. BUT it is beautiful as is!

I agree with all, this is such beautiful work! I think it's just beautiful as it is with the colors you've used, it has such a summery and free feel to it, wonderful!

I don't think they are two toned... I just think if you up the contrasts and deepen some edges it will look even more fabulous... they are my two fall back and fix alls and were the best advise I ever got at uni... Tracey G-P and I were discussing it the other day ... and you joined us by having your wonderful painting sitting on the table beside us... kind of like having you there except you didn't add much to the conversation.... xx

Oh, I love the two toned effect on the ladies, it makes them seem like they are made of nothing more than air, and that is not an easy thing to capture in paint.

This is a classic split complementary color scheme now. I love it as it is and wouldn't change a thing.

Gosh, I love these - the mandala page as well as your painting. Such beautiful color - like summer and blue skies and lazy afternoons. I'm always amazed at how many-sided your art is - how wonderful.
