Almost Done with my Peacock Lady and....Paint Party Friday

Woo hoo- it's Paint Party Friday and I am ready!  I had a few more hours to put in to my Peacock Chica (no idea what her name will be when she's done ;))  and for the most part she's done.  She's at that scary place where I have to approach any changes on tip toe so as to not over do things....
I need to do a bit more on her hand- I wanted it to be kind of "sketchy" and loose, but now that it's up on the monitor, I see it's a little big...so make it smaller for sure
Her neck has been giving me fits since I started, and each time I've gone to fix it, I've ruined it and had to start over- so while it still bugs me a little, I'm thinking I might leave it as is......
I fixed the facial features and had a blast shading the cheek and peacock feather- so no changes there
So, what do you think?  I'd like to maybe, maybe play with the border a little more, but again, every time I've tweaked it, I've forced myself to start over.....

In the meantime, no painting for me today.  It's cooking for tomorrow's Farmer's Market (assorted Whoopie Pies and Chicken Turnovers ;)) and visiting all my friends at Paint Party Friday.  Hope to see you there!
xx

This is so beautiful, Stephanie. Your woman has an absolutely perfect nose. How I'd love to be able to paint faces like that. Leave the neck alone, I think, but if possible shorten the fingers a bit. If it's not possible, I think the long fingers go with the long neck. It's really nice. And as you said, it is easy to overdo.

She is beautiful! And what a job too on the feather - those are so hard to do!

Oooh, this is beautiful. I really love the composition. It's tough when you get to that "very nearly done" place. It's easy to start tinkering and mess up the whole thing. Good thing you have a day or so away to let it sit and decide what you want to do next.

This is so elegant and dreamy, the feather is gorgeous and compliments the red shades beautifully. Love the softness of your brushwork and I know you said you're not 100% happy with it but I actually really like the line of her neck! x

She is stunning!!! So full of grace and beauty. You amaze me in the way your art seems to be alive with senses and emotions. I've been reading through your past few posts & enjoying catching up on the stages of painting this lady & the creation of your new journal. I've left a couple of comments on previous posts too.

Hope your farmer's market goes well & you have a fabulous weekend!

You always amaze me Stephanie! She is a total knock-out!
I love the way she is partially framed...contained, but leaking out of her box...lots to think about.
And that feather, the expression on her face and the delicate pose of her hand...I can feel her yearning...masterful♥♥
