Weekly Challenge at Inspiration Avenue: "Breathe"

Here's my entry for this week's challenge at Inspiration Avenue- the theme was "Breathe" and I wanted to do something a bit free-er than my usual stuff- sometimes I get too caught up in the details and I need to let my hair down.  This lady was many things before she got to this point.  At first I wanted her to be Ophelia, BUT, too much dictating from me, or so my muse said.  SO I gave her a tail- uh uh, no good, then somehow her hair turned into stylized water and she ended up wearing a wedding kind of gown and here she is......her face is a bit sweeter than I want it, and I probably (foolishly) will play around with it a bit more, but for now (for better or worse?) she is ready for Inspiration Avenue.
Here is "Remembering to Breathe"
So there you have it- for once, I'm not flying in under the wire with my entry for the challenge.  Make sure to check out what everyone else has done for the week, or better yet; submit your own interpretation for "Breathe" it's always fun and you just may win something!
Cheers!
Stephanie

She's beautiful Steph, just as she is! You can interpret this painting in many ways as a viewer. It's funny even when you let your hair down you work is still amazing! I love it. I wouldn't change a thing.

I love her and don't think she needs any more work. I think her hair is my favorite part of her.

Gorgeous!! I think it looks much more like a ballerina than a wedding dress and a magical breath that ballerina is breathing!!

Fabulous hair! Love the breath and the falling petals!

I love how you interpreted this challenge. It is a beautiful painting, just as it is. Your lady is gorgeous. Sometimes we have to get out of the way and let the painting take over. I think your lovely lady did in this case, and I'm super impressed with the way you interpreted breathing.

This really does have an underwater feel to it. It looks as though she is comfortably sitting on the bottom of the ocean. Beautiful job Stephanie.

I had to chuckle as I read your post -- my way of creating is much like yours. I start with an idea, and as I work, things usually "morph" into something entirely different! I call it "listening to my Muse"! Love this piece and the way you've interpreted the challenge! Hugs, Terri xoxo

Wow she is beautiful. The flowing of her hair and layers of her gown is very soft and dreamy. Very nice.

She is beautiful! I love how you describe the process, all the different things she was before she turned out like this. I love the outcome a lot! She's very dreamy and just - beautiful.

Sometimes it hard to know when your work is done when you are the artist with a vision in mind. I always start with something not sure at the time where it will lead me. To me your picture is beautiful and just finished perfectly. I love your submission!

She's great. Yep. Sometimes that happens. You start out with one finished image and decide it doesn't work with what you had visualized. The bubbles really add and how perfect for your challenge.

The red flowers and petals are the PERFECT accent, it is really gorgeous (wish I had a better word)

Thanks sooo much for changing your comment settings for me. :)

I sooo love this painting. LOVE!! I was so disappointed when I couldn't tell you! lol

ps: I wouldn't change a thing about the painting, but I am a chronic tweaker myself, so I can't give good advice about that. lol I tell myself, oh, I'll just change this one little thing, and 5 hours later, I'm still painting away. arrgh!
