I thought about adding more words to the sunburst, but it's always those decisions that cause my pieces to be overkill- I decided to leave it the way it is, and (hopefully) let it "shine" as it!
I'm in the process of putting together some posts covering the rest of my Paris trip, my garden and all the (many) home projects we've been doing the last few months.....patience! I AM slowly coming back, I promise!xx

Okay. You were just messin' with me yesterday, or maybe not sure how much gorgeous-ness I could take at one time, right??! Hee hee, just kidding.
I LOVE the orange sunburst, somehow it draws the eye back to the beautiful lady, maybe it is the way the petals behind her head complete the sun burst. Adding the magenta was inspired. I was hoping no one would feel restricted by just the orange, yellow and gray and would add whatever they wanted. And she HAD to have the little glow on her cheek, it's perfect!
Forgot to say in my other comment, I love the word "shine" ~ it's happy and positive and of course I love anything that shines :-)

This is really beautiful, the journal will be fantastic. Good to see you around again! Hugs, Valerie
I've been away from my computer for two days and came back to see your WIP and the completed piece all in one fell swoop.
It sounds like Maggie is really happy with this spread. And I can understand why. It is stunning. I agree that the touch of magenta added that extra pop. I love this.
I got your message and will send you an e-mail shortly.
I can't find your e-mail address and I wouldn't be able to do any thing if you weren't on my sidebar because Google + won't let me into anything unless I join. Where is your e-mail?
Oh wow! The orange looks fantastic against the black and white illustration. I see a little of that magenta and I love it. This is beautiful! Lucky Maggie!
Steph this is stunning!! Your sketch of the lady is just gorgeous and the sun burst is perfect. Maggie has such a happy journal. Yours is looking mighty regal with the color theme you chose. It's really pretty.
Oh WOW I love this beautiful lady - she is stunning and so wonderfully drawn - wow (did I say that already? It's difficult to find a better way of saying how amazing it is!)
The pencil drawing against the vibrant sunburst is such an effective combination - perfectly complimenting and enhancing each other.
Maggie is of course going to treasure these beautiful pages.

She is totally magical. I love her softness against the bright sunburst - a true work of art.
Stephanie!
Wow!
I had to quick look back to see her before the sunburst...SHE is so perfect! Wow! I love the way you make everything happen in 3D, I wish I could see this with my hands :)
And Shine...that word says it all, doesn't it?

This is absolutely gorgeous Steph! The contract between the sunshine colours and glorious sunbeam and the subtle grey is really engaging and looks divine. I love it!! x
