Weekly Challenge at Inspiration Avenue: "Sunflowers"

Here's my entry for this week's challenge at Inspiration Avenue- the theme was "Sunflowers" which I love.  I had fun flinging paint onto this canvas trying to keep it loose and free flowing.  I'm not sure it's finished and would welcome any suggestions that would make it complete :)
I'm also using this as my entry for this weeks Paint Party Friday.  If you get a chance, be sure to visit both blogs- there's so much eye candy on these sites, you'll be sure to have a blast!
Happy Friday!
Stephanie

I like it as it is...sort of like that lone flower you see growing beside an otherwise empty stretch of highway.

Visiting from IA. I think the sunflower is stunning and just perfect as it is! I like the soft lines and the maroon in the flower and bottom drew my eye right around the painting.

You've been BUSY! I'm impressed. Also like those art classes you are teaching. But the sunflower is the piece that turns a challenge into an art show. Lots of detail in this, too, with the shading and various colors. I wouldn't do a thing to it, if I were you.

Oh, the sunflower is lovely!! It has all the shades that you find in them - very beautiful.
Thank you for your lovely comment - I think using those paper towels would be a great idea. You get lots of texture at the same time - oh, I should try that as wwll!

Steph it's wonderful! I'm seeing a new softness and kind of a dreamy quality in your work lately that's really appealing. Loving your colour palette too.

If I was going to suggest anything, it would be maybe a little more texture or detail in the bottom left corner maybe. I can visualise little Klimt style, softly coloured abstract squares there for some reason!

But it's also lovely just as it is, so tough call whether to add anything! x

It looks gorgeous. I really love it. You did a wonderful job. Since you asked for a suggestion, I would "up the contrast" a little. Make some yellow a little brighter, make some areas of the red a littler darker. Just my opinion though.. I love bright contrasts.

You can paint movement like no one else Stephanie...I don't think you should add anything...
Sunflowers are proud, they want all eyes on them!
I've missed visiting you...

Beautiful sunflower - i love the way the background colours really portray a scorched hot landscape but this gorgeous flower just keeps on growing! Lovely.
